Authorizing Police Department to accept a grant in the amount of $225,000 from the Otto Bremer Trust through the St. Paul Police Foundation.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was awarded a grant from the Otto Bremer Trust for the purpose of supporting and expanding the community outreach and engagement efforts of the Saint Paul Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation has dispersed $225,000 of these granted funds to the Saint Paul Police Department and have entered into a Sponsor Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the 2019 financing and spending plan needs to be amended and activity budget added for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $225,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2019 budget and recommends the changes as follows; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council accepts this grant and authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Assistant Chief Kathleen Wuorinen to implement the attached agreement with the Otto Bremer Trust through the St. Paul Police Foundation; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves these changes to the 2019 budget.
