Accepting the gift of travel expenses, lodging, and conference costs, not to exceed $3000, from the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundations for DSI Director Ricardo Cervantes and Deputy Police Chief Matt Toupal to attend the National Alliance to End Homelessness Conference on Solutions for Individual Homeless Adults to be held February 21 and 22, 2019 in San Diego California.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Foundation has graciously offered to help pay for eight individuals involved in the “Outside In” partnership to attend the National Alliance to End Homelessness Conference on Solutions for Individual Homeless Adults in San Diego California on February 21 and 22, 2019; and
WHEREAS, two of these eight individuals are representatives of the initiative and are City employees representing DSI and the Saint Paul Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation has generously agreed to pay for travel expenses, hotel reimbursement and conference costs for Director Cervantes and Deputy Chief Toupal not to exceed $3,000; and
WHEREAS, at this conference, the DSI Director and Deputy Chief will have the opportunity to learn of innovative approaches to combat homelessness in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this conference will be beneficial to the City in enhancing the city’s work on homeless issues. Now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost of travel expenses, lodging, and conference costs by the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundations, and thanks the Foundations for their generous gift.
