Title

Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $996,023 to reflect funds received from Dakota County for construction of the Robert Piram Regional Trail project.

 

Body

WHEREAS, in accordance with Resolution #18-1496 adopted on September 19, 2018, the City of Saint Paul, through its Department of Parks and Recreation, has entered into a Joint Powers Agreement with Dakota County for construction of the Robert Piram Regional Trail; and

 

WHEREAS, the City and Dakota County have cooperatively undertaken the construction and construction engineering of 3.7 miles of off-road multio-use trail; and

 

WHEREAS, the City and Dakota County will share project responsibilities and jointly participate in the project costs associated with constructing the proposed off-road, multi-use trail; and

 

WHEREAS,  Dakota County will reimburse the City in the amount of $996,023 for its share of he project costs; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation agrees to accept, manage, and administer said funds for the Robert Piram Regional Trail project; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the desire of Parks and Recreation to amend the financing and spending budget for the project in the amount of $996,023; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $996,023 in excess of those estimated in the 2017 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $996,023 is available for appropriation in the 2017 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2017 budget, as therefore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended.
