Purpose of Appeal: 

House Fire Occured 9/6/18

Fire Safety Inspection Date 10/11/18

Reinspection Date 12/13/18

We are working with our insurance claims specialist, Matt, and contractor, Jesie, to get repairs scheduled and completed.  Repairs will most likely not be completed by 12/13/18.  Permits have been pulled by contractor.

Date of Order(s) Under Appeal:  October 12 and October 15 respectively

Inspector/Key Staff:  Jacob Wheeler and Tom Friel

Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  Appellant came to the office to appeal the Fire Inspection Correction Notice, which included a condemnation.  Staff later found a Vacant Building Registration Fee Warning Letter that is more recent, but it did not originate from the condemnation.  Both documents are being appealed per the Legislative Hearing Officer.  The purpose of appeal was written before the appellant knew that there was a vacant building letter.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Cheng Zong Xiong to a Fire Inspection Correction Notice at 1580 ARKWRIGHT STREET, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council deny the appeal; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
