Authorizing the Fire Department to accept the donation of 1,000 smoke alarms and 1,000 carbon monoxide alarms valued at $46,980 from Kidde Fire Safety.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Kidde Fire Safety, a manufacturer of fire safety products, has a public service campaign “Operation Save a Life” designed to educate consumers on the dangers of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning;  and

WHEREAS, in 2017 69% of fire fatalities in Minnesota either had no working smoke alarms or the fire investigator was unable to determine if working smoke alarms were present; and

WHEREAS, Kidde has offered to donate 1,000 smoke alarms and 1,000 carbon monoxide alarms valued at $46,980.00 to the Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to accept the donation of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms from Kidde; and

WHEREAS; the  purpose of this donation will be to support the “Project Safe Haven” program; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this donation of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms from Kidde, and thanks Kidde Fire Safety  for its generous gift.
