Title

Pertaining to an Amendment No. 2 to Agreement with the City of Lauderdale to provide for water facility work within Lauderdale street projects.

 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Lauderdale and the Board of Water Commissioners entered into an agreement dated December 10, 1997 whereby the Board would provide water service to the City of Lauderdale at water rates that would become equal to the rates charged within the City of Saint Paul (the “Agreement”) and, in return, the City of Lauderdale would convey title to its water facilities to the Board; and

 

WHEREAS, the parties desire that whenever possible, water main replacement or other water system repair work be completed in conjunction with Lauderdale street paving projects to provide the greatest efficiency and to minimize traffic disruptions and replacement costs; and

 

WHEREAS, when such coordination is possible, the Board desires to utilize Lauderdale’s street project contractor to provide water main replacement or other water system repair work, and Lauderdale is willing to provide such work in conjunction with Lauderdale street paving projects; and

 

WHEREAS, staff has prepared an Amendment No. 2 to Agreement which sets forth the terms and conditions for the provision and payment for such work, and recommends approval of said Amendment; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul does hereby approve Amendment No. 2 to Agreement between the Board of Water Commissioners and the City of Lauderdale for the provision and payment of water facility work within Lauderdale street paving projects, and that the proper officers are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment No. 2 on behalf of the Board, following approval by the assistant city attorney.
