Authorizing the expenditure of funds for the City of Saint Paul and State of Minnesota Career Fair.

WHEREAS, the City will partnered with the State of Minnesota on November 3, 2018 to host a free Career Fair for the purpose of recruiting talented individuals to join the City’s workforce at a cost not to exceed $15,000; and
WHEREAS, the above-mentioned funds will have paid for labor costs at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium, marketing materials, food for staff members, media advertisement, and ADA accommodation services; and
WHEREAS, the career fair offered opportunities for Career Fair attendees to learn about how to apply for positions at the City, participate in informational interviews, and meet with staff from the City’s 14 operating departments; and
WHEREAS, use of the above-mentioned funds for the Career Fair provides a benefit to the public by providing access to and knowledge about available City jobs, thereby attracting talented individuals to join the City’s workforce; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that City officials are authorized to hold the Career Fair and remit the cost not to exceed $15,000 for the Career Fair to the proper parties.
