Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to solicit businesses and individuals for donations of no more than $500 to support the Blooming Saint Paul program to beautify Saint Paul through supporting the communal creation of a healthy natural environment in order to enhance touring, living, and working in the city.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Chapter 41 of the City of Saint Paul Administrative Code sets forth the process for allowing employees of the City of Saint Paul to solicit money and/or property for any employer-related or occupational- related purposes; and

 

WHEREAS, in the case of solicitations of more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) only the mayor or designee or the council as a whole or designee of the council can make such solicitations; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to solicit businesses and individuals to donate to the Blooming Saint Paul program for the beautification of the city and such donations will be separately accounted for and the donors appropriately recognized; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation, Michael Hahm, and his designee, Tony Singerhouse, are hereby designated as individuals who may solicit funds on behalf of Blooming Saint Paul; and be it    

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution will be filed with the city clerk, and the Department will submit quarterly reports of all solicitations to the city clerk, mayor and each councilperson.
