Title

Authorization to acquire a vacated portion of Saint Anthony Park Library property located at 2245 Como Avenue from the City of Saint Paul and subsequently convey same to the owners of 2239 Como Avenue for use as a part of their sideyard. St. Anthony Park District 12, Ward 4

Body

WHEREAS, the St. Paul City Council (the “City”) pursuant to RES PH 18-32 has approved the vacation and disposal of a portion of the Saint Anthony Park Library property at 2245 Como Avenue (the “Property”); and

 

WHEREAS, RES 18-32 also approved the pass thru conveyance to HRA for sale to Richard and Nancy Foss, owners of the adjacent property at 2239 Como Avenue (“Buyers”); and

 

WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota (“HRA”) is empowered to accept conveyance and convey same under its Disposition Policy at the request of the City and now desires to accept conveyance of the Property from the City and subsequently convey the Property to the Buyers; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing on this acquisition and conveyance of the Property was held on October 24, 2018.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota,

 

                     1.                     That the HRA acquisition and subsequent conveyance of the Property by transfer from the City pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Disposition Policy are approved. The Property is legally described as follows:

 

That part of Lot 21, Block 37, St. Anthony Park North, according to the recorded plat thereof, Ramsey County, Minnesota, lying southeasterly of a line described as commencing at the northeast corner of the Southeast Quarter of Section 20, Township 29, Range 23; thence on an assumed bearing of South 0 degrees 18 minutes 33 seconds West, along the east line of said Southeast Quarter of Section 20, a distance of 1312.12 feet; thence North 89 degrees 41 minutes 27 seconds West 1536.28 feet to a cast iron monument on the east line of said Lot 21 and the point of beginning of the line to be described; thence South 53 degrees 03 minutes 45 seconds West 64.76 feet; thence South 44 degrees 36 minutes 45 seconds West 13.29 feet; thence South 57 degrees 47 minutes 15 seconds West 23.72 feet; thence South 53 degrees 03 minutes 45 seconds West 36.40 feet to the west line of said Lot 21 and said line there terminating.

 

Subject to the widening of Como Avenue

 

2                     The Agreement between the City, HRA and Buyers, attached to this resolution, is hereby approved and the HRA Executive Director and staff are authorized and directed to take all actions needed to implement this Resolution.
