Purpose of Appeal: We received a deficiency during our fire inspection for an emergency exit door that has an access control system. This door is the front entrance to a suite and has a control system for the employees to enter. If there is a fire, the doors will automatically unlock so that people can use the emergency exit. We would like to appeal this deficiency since it can be used as an emergency exit without removing the access control system.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the appeal of Kristyn Secaur, on behalf of Court International LLC, to a Fire Inspection Correction Notice at 2550 UNIVERSITY AVENUE WEST, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant an extension to November 1, 2018 to grant an extension to November 1, 2018, for providing the 4th floor easterly tenant to access the 4th floor northeasterly tenant space via emergency pull station for purpose of emergency egress via the north stairs; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
