Accepting the gift of travel, meals, and lodging for Office of Technology and Communications staff to attend a workshop by the Institute of Museum and Library Services in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 14, 2018.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency was asked to participate in a workshop that will further the democratization of civic data let by the University of Pittsburgh and supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services; and
WHEREAS, the grant will require that one Library staff member and one OTC staff member attend a participatory design workshop in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 14, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The Institute of Museum and Library Services has offered to pay a $1500 stipend for the costs of travel, meals and lodging for two city participants; and
WHEREAS, attendance at the workshop will further the goal of increasing cooperation between the Office of Technology and Communications and the Library to engage the public with civic data; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel, meals and lodging for the OTC staff member to attend the participatory design workshop and thanks the Institute of Museum and Library Services for it generous gift.
