Simmons University Gift Acceptance Resolution

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public Library Agency was asked to participate in a grant that will measure broadband access in public libraries; and
WHEREAS, the Library verified with the City’s Office of Technology that there were no objections to this participation; and
WHEREAS, the grant will require that one Library staff member attend a participatory design workshop in Chicago, Illinois from October 23-24, 2018 hosted by Simmons University; and
WHEREAS, Simmons University has offered to pay for the costs of travel, meals and lodging for two city participants; and
WHEREAS, attendance at the conference will further the goal of increasing broadband internet capabilities for the Library; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul Public Library Board accepts the gift of travel, meals and lodging for a Library staff member to attend the participatory design workshop and thanks Simmons University for its generous gift.
