Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $53,182 to accept the 2017 Assistance to Firefighters Grant to provide training for firefighters.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has applied for and received a grant of $53,182 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which has a federal share of $53,182 and a 10% matching fund contribution of $5,318 to provide training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council approved this grant application on RES 18-259 on February 21, 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, federal law requires a 10% matching fund contribution and the Saint Paul Fire Department match of $5,318 will be paid from 10022200-63310-2210021500-63310; and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $53,182 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this grant and approves the changes to the 2018 budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
