Authorizing the Police Department to travel with seven community members to visit the Smithsonian's Museum of African American History and Culture and the Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, D.C.

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Police Department would like to take 7 community members along with members of the police department to visit the Smithsonian’s Museum of African American History and Culture and the national Law Enforcement Museum in Washington D.C. selecting from the young adults from the community; and
WHEREAS, the cost of this trip will be approximately $15,003.50 and will be paid by funds granted to the department's community engagement work and will be funded by the Community Engagement Unit’s foundation grant budget; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose is to promote community engagement activities; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the City of Saint Paul Police Department to attend the Smithsonian with selected community members.
