Accepting the gift of $500 for travel expenses related to the Prosperity Now Summit from Prosperity Now, for Kaohly Her, Mayor Carter’s Policy Director, to speak as a panelist at the Summit.

WHEREAS, Kaohly Her, Policy Director, was invited by Prosperity Now to attend the Prosperity Now Summit in Washington, DC from September 6, 2018 through September7, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Prosperity Now works with service providers to develop, test, and scale proven approaches to building wealth; and
WHEREAS, Prosperity Now collaborates with like-minded nonprofits and think-tanks across the country to fight for a more prosperous economy; and
WHEREAS, Prosperity Now is a leading researcher and convener of College Savings Accounts (CSA) in the country; and
WHEREAS, the Prosperity Now Summit brings together the nation’s most diverse group of voices working toward a common goal in which everyone has the chance to prosper; and
WHEREAS, Prosperity Now is a committed partner in Saint Paul’s CSA work and continues to provide resources and opportunities to share the learnings from Saint Paul’s CSA work; and
WHEREAS, Prosperity Now has offered to provide a stipend of $500 to cover travel expenses for Kaohly Her to be a panelist in their Summit; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the offer to cover the travel expenses in the amount of $500 for Kaohly Her to attend the Prosperity Now Summit with practitioners, program managers, and leaders interested in starting their own College Savings Accounts and thanks to Prosperity Now for its generous gift.
