Authorizing Police Department to accept an AmeriCorps sub-grant in the amount of $214,950 from ServeMN for the Law Enforcement Career Path Academy.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) has received a sub-grant from the Corporation for National and Community Services (CNCS) through the State Service Commission, ServeMinnesota, SPPD would like to enter into an agreement for this sub-award; and
WHEREAS, this grant award will allow SPPD to invite up to 15 members from the Law Enforcement Career Path Academy (LECPA) program to return and complete another term; and
WHEREAS, this grant provides funds support the LECPA program whose members support a comprehensive community engagement strategy through communication, training and mentoring; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council accepts this grant award and authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into an agreement for this grant award.
