Title

Approving the application submitted by Jeremy Schrimpf of Weis Building, Inc. for an exception to the general hours of operation for pedestrian skyway bridges #29, #33, and #39, which serve 345 Cedar Street, during construction to reroute the skyway access at 345 Cedar.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Jeremy Schrimpf of Weis Building, Inc. applied for an exception to the general hours of operation for pedestrian skyways #29, #33 and #39 which serve 345 Cedar Street from the date that this resolution takes effect through September 14, 2018, and

 

WHEREAS, the request for exception is related to construction to reroute the skyway access; and

 

WHEREAS, pedestrian skyways #29, #33 and #39 cross over Cedar Street and 4th Street East; and 

 

WHEREAS, the applicant requests that the hours of operation for skyway bridges #29, #33 and #39 which connect Cedar Street and 4th Street East be reduced to zero from the date that this resolution takes effect through September 14,2018; and

 

WHEREAS, the Skyway Advisory Committee considered this application and on July 27, 2018 voted to approve the request of Jeremy Schrimpf of Weis Building; and

 

WHEREAS, Chapter 140.11(b) of the Saint Paul Legislative Code gives the Council the power to grant such exceptions; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council held a public hearing on the application for the exception August 15, 2018 at which time the Council heard from the Department of Safety and Inspections; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council hereby finds that there is sufficient basis to support the request of Jeremy Schrimpf of Weis Building, Inc. for a reduction in general operating hours for skyway bridges #29, #33 and #39 to zero from the date that this resolution takes effect through September 14, 2018 for the above-stated reasons and approves the request for an exception; and be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council may reconsider the exception to the general hours of operation if the circumstances that gave rise to the exception change.

 

A copy of this resolution, as adopted, shall be sent by first class mail to the applicant.
