Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to accept an in-kind donation valued at $564 for use of Metro State University’s facilities for a minimum wage public input and discussion session.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council requested that the Citizens League convene an independent study committee to analyze key questions surrounding a minimum wage ordinance in Saint Paul, and the study committee has been meeting publicly and weekly since May 10, 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council, in collaboration and partnership with Mayor Melvin Carter, is hosting facilitated minimum wage public input and discussion sessions, of which the public input from the first two is being shared with the Citizens League’s study committee; and

 

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council and Mayor Melvin Carter intend that the four public meetings occur outside of City Hall and in our neighborhoods and throughout the community to allow for greater access and ability of residents to attend; and

 

WHEREAS, Metro State University is generously providing an in-kind donation of their facility space for the minimum wage public input and discussion session on Saturday, August 4th;

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts this in-kind donation and thanks Metro State University for their generous gift.
