Authorizing the Police Department to accept grants from the Saint Paul Police Foundation for training equipment and supplies.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including insuring that public safety for our citizens remains the number one priority for our city; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation board of directors has approved the granting/donation a total of $49,380 from the “100 Club” memorial fund; and
WHEREAS, these grants have been purposed for police patrol medic kits so trained officers are equipped to handle life threatening injuries when medics are delayed and for equipment used for officer training that will advance critical thinking and scenario based training; and
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept the donation for which the public purpose is for officer training and equipment to advance public safety; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
