Comments:   The are 2 houses on the same PIN.  when the first house got its certificate of code compliance on December 21, 2017, the inspector opened a new VF folder for the 2nd house.  The fee went to assessment on March 30, 2018 and the file wasn't closed until May 15, 2018 when the certificate of code compliance was issued.  Recommend deleting the assessment since this building was close to being signed off and there seemed to be some confusion on opening a new VB folder.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Collection of Vacant Building Registration fees billed during March 29, 2017 to February 16, 2018. (File No. VB1810, Assessment No. 188815) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Saint Paul City Charter, said assessment is hereby deleted.
