Accepting the gift of the costs of travel expenses from the National Guard for Chief Equity Officer, Toni Newborn, to attend the National Guard’s 5^th annual Special Victim’s Counsel ("SVC") Continuing Legal Education ("CLE") Program to be held in Tampa, Florida from June 18 - 20, 2018.

Body

WHEREAS, the National Guard has invited the City of Saint Paul’s Chief Equity Officer to attend and lead a training session on unconscious and implicit bias on June 18^th- 20^th 2018; and

WHEREAS, at the National Guard’s CLE, Toni Newborn will have the opportunity to educate the CLE attendees regarding unconscious and implicit bias in the workplace; and

WHEREAS, the National Guard has offered to pay for the costs of travel expenses; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul find that attendance at the CLE will be beneficial to the City in providing resources and insight to the City’s work; now therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost of travel expenses to National Guard’s 5^th annual Special Victim’s Counsel (SVC) Continuing Legal Education (CLE), and thanks the National Guard for its generous gift.
