WHEREAS, GARE has invited the City of Saint Paul’s Chief Equity Officer to attend and serve on a panel to discuss the city’s equity framework and the methods to sustain an equity framework on June 6^th- 8^th 2018; and

WHEREAS, at the Race Equity Here convening, Toni Newborn will have the opportunity to showcase Saint Pauls’ racial equity framework as well as learn best practices from other government jurisdictions; and

WHEREAS, GARE has offered to pay for the costs of travel expenses for the convening; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul find that attendance at the convening will be beneficial to the City in providing resources and insight to the City work; now therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost of travel expenses to GARE’s Race Equity Here 2018, and thanks GARE for its generous gift.
