Approving the allocation of additional 2018 Municipal State funding to the Pascal-Snelling Improvements, Johnson Parkway Trail, and Como Avenue Trail Projects, as proposed by the Department of Public Works.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul receives an annual allocation of Municipal State Aid from MnDOT to complete capital projects and maintenance on Municipal State Aid Routes; and
WHEREAS, in 2018 the City has received additional Municipal State Aid funding in the amount of $1,218,763; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public works proposes to allocate these additional funds to the following projects:
? Pascal-Snelling Improvements $355,000
This project includes street infrastructure improvements around the soccer stadium including: removing the signal at Snelling and Spruce, constructing a signal at Snelling and Shields, median revisions on Snelling and signal construction at St. Anthony and Pascal. The project funding also includes $750,000 of Tax Increment financing and $612,000 of MnDOT Trunk Highway financing.
? Johnson Parkway Trail Project $431,882
This federally funding project will construct an off-street bicycle and pedestrian trail on the east side of Johnson between Burns and Phalen Boulevard. This MSA funding will allow for the design process to start in 2018.
? Como Avenue Trail Project $431,881
This federally funding project is for the construction of an off-street bicycle trail along the north side of Como Avenue between Raymond and Hamline. This MSA funding will allow for the design process to start in 2018.
