Title

Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept a gift in the amount of $1,500 from the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation for Historical Significance Review of the Langford Park Bandstand.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Langford Park is located in the St. Anthony Park  neighborhood and is one of St. Paul’s oldest parks; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation intends to determine the historical significance of the small bandstand that was part of the park’s earliest development; and

 

WHEREAS, the report will detail the bandstand’s history and historic integrity and recommend if the property is eligible for Saint Paul Heritage Preservation designation according to criteria as outlined in the Heritage Preservation Ordinance Sec. 73-05; and

 

WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation wishes to provide the City of St. Paul with a gift of $1,500 to assist with the cost of the historical review of property; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept the gift of $1,500 from the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul Council accepts the donation of $1,500 from the St. Anthony Park Community Foundation and thanks them their generous gift.
