Title

Authorizing the Office of Financial Services to execute agreements with the Environmental Initiative and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which include an indemnification clause, to accept the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Diesel Emissions Reduction Act grant for Fleet.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services applied for and has received grant funding from the Environmental Initiative and the U.S Environmental Protection Agency Diesel Emissions Reduction Act as reflected in RES 17-1930; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant agreement requires the City to defend and indemnify the Environmental Initiative and the U.S Environmental Protection Agency as a condition of receiving the grant funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in advancing clean and renewable energy and that acceptance of the grant funding will improve air quality and help protect human health; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the proper City officials to execute agreements with the Environmental Initiative and the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, which include an indemnification clause, to accept and implement said grant funds.
