WHEREAS, GARE asked Jessica Kingston, representing HREEO and the City of Saint Paul to speak at the Advancing Racial Equity Speaker Series on March 13, 2018; and
WHEREAS, GARE is a national network of government working to achieve racial equity and advance opportunities for all; and
WHEREAS, GARE is a joint project of the new Race Forward and the Haas Institute for a Fair & Inclusive Society; and
WHEREAS, GARE believes local and regional government has the ability to implement policy change at multiple levels and across multiple sectors to drive larger systemic change; and
WHEREAS, Jessica Kingston will have the opportunity to share the advancements in racial equity made by the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this conference is to increase knowledge and skills for those who work to advance racial equity in government.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the city accepts the gift of hotel accommodation in the amount of $246.78 and thanks GARE for its generous gift.
