Appeal of Opal Sherwood to a Graffiti Abatement Order at 1265 THIRD STREET EAST.

Purpose of Appeal:  I painted an aurora boreali's mural on the front of my house.  It is art, not graffiti.  The mural contains no gang signs or tags.  It also does not contain any words or images that could be perceived as "offensive".

WHEREAS, in the matter of appeal of Opal Sherwood to a Graffiti Abatement Order at 1265 THIRD STREET EAST, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant to July 1, 2018 for compliance with the scraping and peeling paint in front of house facing the street; And Be It Further

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter; And Be It Further

 

RESOLVED, that after July 1, 2018, the Council will receive a report from the Legislative Hearing Officer with findings on the status of the nuisance abatement; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that a Legislative Hearing is scheduled for July 10, 2018 at which owners, interested parties and Department of Safety and Inspection staff will present information on the current status of the abatement and the resulting findings will be presented to the City Council at a public hearing on July 11, 2018 for its consideration.
