Approving the modification of 2015 Neighborhood STAR Program Funds for the Oromo Community of Minnesota.
Body
WHEREAS, on July 15, 2015, Resolution #15-1224 awarded a Neighborhood STAR Program grant of $35,000 to the Oromo Community of Minnesota for kitchen upgrades; and
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2018, the Oromo Community of Minnesota returned to the Neighborhood STAR Board to request the use of their 2015 STAR award be changed to a new HVAC system, entrance door and updated electrical system; and,
WHEREAS, Neighborhood STAR Board Members recommended the change of use as requested; and
WHEREAS, as this project is of substantial community significance, it is the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council to adjust the scope of the 2015 Neighborhood STAR Program award to the Oromo Community of Minnesota; and,
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to execute the necessary grant documents to implement this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
