Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity in the amount of $256,550 to accept grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) is a fully certified by HUD as Fair Housing Assistance Partner (FHAP) Agency; and
WHEREAS, HREEO was eligible to receive FHAP Capacity Building Funds of $120,000 for both fiscal year 2013 and 2014 and to receive reimbursement for administrative, case processing and training expenses of $54,550; and
WHEREAS, HUD approved the availability of these funds to HREEO on June 21, 2017 and September 11, 2017, and the vouchers for payment were submitted on August 22, 2017 and September 18, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the City Charter, does certify that there are funds of $256,550 available for appropriation in excess of the estimated in the 2017 budget;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council accepts these HUD Funds and approves the changes to the 2017 budget identified on Attachment A, authorizing the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity to receive these funds and use them consistent with HUD’s approved uses.
