Amending the 2017 budget of the Right of Way Fund for the addition of Highland Parkway Mill and Overlay.
Body
WHEREAS, The Highland Parkway area demonstrated signs of pavement degradation that require a mill and overlay to extend its service life and to minimize the costs of ongoing pothole repairs; and
WHEREAS, the Highland Parkway Mill and Overlay project was completed in 2017 as part of the Public Works mill and overlay program; and
WHEREAS, there is a 2015 approved capital project, the Arterial/Collector Street Overlay Program, to assist with the Right of Way overlay program with a goal to address deteriorating streets throughout the City and supplement other Right of Way program funding; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the Highland Parkway Mill and Overlay project is $262,479.61; and
WHEREAS, the total $250,000 capital budget is available to be transferred to the Right of Way fund; and
WHEREAS, the Department of the Public Works Director and City Engineer have requested to transfer $250,000 of capital financing, which will increase the spending and financing budget in the Right of Way fund; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $250,000 to be transferred;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, approves the amendments to the operating and capital budgets as detailed in the attached financial analysis.
