Amending the 2017 River Print budget to provide additional spending and financing for new billing and ordering software.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (“HREEO”) proposes to amend the 2017 operating budget for River Print by establishing additional spending and financing in the amount of $22,878 for new software; and
WHEREAS, current billing and ordering software for River Print is cumbersome and inefficient; and
WHEREAS, funding for the new software was included in the Mayor’s Proposed 2018 budget, financed through use of River Print fund equity and cost savings; and
WHERAS, it is advantageous to complete this project as soon as possible in advance of the Infor 11 upgrade; and
WHEREAS, there is currently insufficient spending authority in the River Print Accounting Unit to pay for the necessary software upgrades; and
WHEREAS, HREEO estimates that the total purchase cost of the software is $22,878; and
WHEREAS, HREEO proposes additional financing for the project through the use of fund equity from the River Print Special Fund, and has identified $22,878 of available fund equity in said fund; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.04 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations funds of $22,878 in excess of those estimated in the 2017 budget; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor as heretofore adopted by the City Council, that $22,878 is available for appropriation in the River Print Special Fund Budget and said Budget, as heretofore adopted by Council is hereby amended as indicated in the attached Financial Analysis.
