Authorizing City execution of a Consent to License and Facilities Use Agreement to authorize the co-location of law enforcement operations between the Police Department and Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.

 

Body

WHEREAS, on February 15, 2017 the City Council adopted RES 17-231 to authorize an office lease ("Lease") between the City of Saint Paul ("City"), on behalf of the Saint Paul Police Department ("SPPD"), and Go Wild, LLC ("Landlord"), for SPPD's use of space in downtown Saint Paul ("Leased Premises") for law enforcement purposes; and

 

WHEREAS, SPPD will be co-located in the Leased Premises with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office ("RC-Sheriff"), which RC-Sheriff also intends to use for law enforcement purposes; and

 

WHEREAS, the Lease requires a separate agreement between the City and Landlord to permit RC-Sheriff to co-locate with SPPD in the Leased Premises ("Consent to License"); and

 

WHEREAS, SPPD and RC-Sheriff further desire to enter into a separate Facilities Use Agreement to establish rights and responsiblities for both parties to co-locate and operate within the Leased Premises ("Facilities Use Agreement"); now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby approves, and authorizes the proper city officials to execute, the Consent to License and Facilities Use Agreement in substantially the form now on file with the City, with such necessary and appropriate variations, omissions and insertions as do not materially change the substance thereof.
