Authorizing submission of a proposal to Bloomberg Philanthropies' Mayors Challenge.

WHEREAS, Bloomberg Philanthropies created the Mayors Challenge to recognize creative problem solving happening in City Halls across the country; and
WHEREAS, Bloomberg Philanthropies is offering one $5 million prize and four $1 million prizes to cities seeking to solve major challenges; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor selected the proposed application from the Department of Planning and Economic Development to increase the representation of underrepresented populations in the technology sector; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes submission of the "Tech Inclusion Ecosystem" idea to the Mayors Challenge in advance of the October 20, 2017 deadline.
