Authorizing acceptance of reimbursement for airfare, hotel, and lodging for Jane Eastwood's attendance at a conference in Baltimore, MD on September 19-20, 2017.

WHEREAS, the Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (COSLA) convened a two-day meeting called Measures That Matter held on September 19, 2017 in Baltimore, MD; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Public Library Director, Jane Eastwood, was invited to attend and COSLA offered to pay directly or reimburse her flight, transportation, hotel and meal accommodations; and
WHEREAS, COSLA offered to pay directly or reimburse participants the flight, transportation, hotel and meal accommodations to enable Jane Eastwood to present at the meeting; and
WHEREAS, attendance at the meeting allowed the sharing of information with library administrators and data analysts, convened to evaluate options to align, streamline and innovate the ways libraries collect, analyze and report data nationally; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of hotel expenses for two nights and three meals during the meetings (these items totaling $538.54 paid directly by COSLA) plus taxi, other meals during the meetings and in transit and airfare (these items totaling $667.75) in order for Jane Eastwood to participate in the meeting, and thanks to COSLA for its generous gift.
