Amending the financing and spending plans in the Police Department grant fund for the Ramsey County 2017 Toward Zero Death sub grant.
Body
WHEREAS, Ramsey County was awarded the 2017 Toward Zero Death Enforcement Program grant with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety and had sub-granted $171,863 of this grant to the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (RES 16-436); and
WHEREAS, this grant provides funds for the costs of personnel and equipment in its effort to increase compliance with traffic safety laws with particular emphasis on seat belt, child safety and driving while intoxicated and Ramsey County allocated additional funding from this grant to the department in the amount of $88,137 and
WHEREAS, the department would like to amend the agreement with Ramsey County for this additional allocation of grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the 2017 budget and activity budget needs to be amended for this increase in the sub-grant allocation from Ramsey County; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the city council approves these changes to the 2017 grant and activity budget and authorizes Assistant Chief Kathleen Wuorinen and the proper city officials to execute and implement the amended agreement in a form and content substantially as set forth in the attached.
