Body
WHEREAS, the Dance or Rental Halls license held by Lao Family Community of Minnesota d/b/a Lao Family Community of Minnesota (License ID# 20070001032) for the premises located at 320 University Avenue West in Saint Paul was the subject of a Notice of Intent to Suspend License (Noticeā€) dated July 6, 2017, and


WHEREAS, the Notice stated the licensee failed to pay delinquent license and late fees and submit required information to maintain the license; and


WHEREAS, the licensee did not respond to the Notice by the July 17, 2017 deadline to either pay the delinquent license and late fees, request a public hearing or cancel the license; and


WHEREAS, a resolution was then submitted to the City Council Consent Agenda (RES #17-1190) recommending suspension of the Dance or Rental Halls license and imposition of a $500.00 matrix penalty; and


WHEREAS, at the City Council meeting on August 9, 2017, RES #17-1190 was adopted suspending the Dance or Rentals Halls license and imposing the $500.00 matrix penalty; and


WHEREAS, on August 16, 2017, the Department of Safety and Inspections (DSI) sent the licensee a Notice of Council Action stating their license had been suspended and a $500.00 matrix penalty imposed by City Council; and


WHEREAS, the Notice of Council Action gave the licensee until September 1, 2017 to pay the delinquent license, late fees and $500.00 matrix penalty imposed by Council or DSI would consider taking action to revoke their license; and


WHEREAS, the licensee failed to respond to the Notice of Council Action by the September 1, 2017 deadline; and


WHEREAS, on September 7, 2017 a Notice of Intent to Revoke License was sent to the licensee for failure to pay delinquent license, late fees and the $500.00 matrix penalty imposed by City ...
