Comments: Two vehicles on property with expired tabs and appeared inoperable - Saab, KPS 789 and Pontiac, GNR 426. Both vehicles were towed by SPPD on 6/27/16 at a total cost of $1,050.00 ($525.00 per vehicle). The Saab was sold at auction on 7/28/16 for $200 (police assessment is $325 for this vehicle). The Pontiac was sold at auction on 7/28/16 for $100 (police assessment is $425 for this vehicle).
History of Orders on Property: Same vehicles were issued orders in December 2015 but were not towed. Property owner wrote messages on garage condemning police for towing her vehicles. See photo dated 9/12/16.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Towing of Abandoned Vehicle services during January to December 2016. (File No. J1701V, Assessment No. 178000) (Layover to October 4) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and
