Authorizing the appropriate personnel to enter into an agreement with O’Halloran and Murphy for the construction of a median opening on Snelling Avenue between Hartford Avenue and Watson Avenue.
Body
WHEREAS, MnDOT State Project No. 6215-109 (T.H. 51=125) provides for construction of medians and parking bays on Snelling Avenue (T.H-51=125) from Randolph Avenue to Ford Parkway; and
WHEREAS, O’Halloran and Murphy, a C Corporation ("Business") operates as a funeral home at 575 Snelling Avenue South, and its functions require use of city streets, in particular Snelling Avenue, to lead funeral processions out of the home; and
WHEREAS, the Business has raised concerns about the medians; and how the medians might impact its ability to traverse both directions on Snelling Avenue when beginning a funeral procession; and
WHEREAS, the City and MnDOT have agreed to accommodate the Business’s concerns and will provide a median opening with certain terms and conditions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the City of Saint Paul will enter into an agreement with O’Halloran and Murphy, a C Corporation for the following purposes:
To provide for the construction of a median opening on Snelling Avenue (T.H-51=125) between Hartford Avenue and Watson Avenue under State Project No. 6215-109 (T.H. 51=125); and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any attachments to the Agreement.
