Title

Authorizing the Police Department to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota to make the records management system compatible with the National Incident-Based Reporting System.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul on behalf of its Police Department desires to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to receive funding to implement an adapter to allow communication between the Police Department records management system and the National Incident-Based Reporting System as administered by the State of Minnesota. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota as follows:

 

1. That the Joint Powers Agreement by and between the State of Minnesota acting through its Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the City of Saint Paul on behalf of its Police Department, is hereby approved.  A copy of the Joint Powers Agreement is attached to this Resolution and made a part of it.

 

2. That Chief Todd Axtell, or Assistant Chief of Police, Kathleen Wuorinen as designee, is authorized to execute the Joint Powers Agreement for the City of Saint Paul and authorized to sign any subsequent amendment or agreement that may be required by the State of Minnesota to maintain the agreement with the State.
