Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Emergency Management in the amount of $73,218.75 for the 2016 Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Emergency Management applied for and received a grant of $73,218.75 from the State of Minnesota for the 2016 Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant to develop and write the required Hazard Mitigation plan, and

 

WHEREAS, the grant includes a match of $24,406.25 which will be met with Emergency Management employees salaries, and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $72,218.75 in excess of those estimated in the 2017 budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following additional changes be made to the 2017 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this grant, and hereby approves the changes to the 2017 budget referenced in this resolution, and furthermore authorizes the appropriate city officials to execute and implement the attached grant agreement for the 2016 Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant.
