Title

Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter into a three year lease agreement with Highland District Council for office space at Highland Park Community Center.

 

Body

WHEREAS, Highland District Council strives to promote citizen participation in government and community decisions, foster the well-being of Saint Paul neighborhoods, and enhance the quality of life in Saint Paul; and

 

WHEREAS, Highland District Council wishes to enter into an agreement with the City of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation for leased office space at Highland Park Community Center at the three year term of $5,993.52; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation believes lease of office space at the recreation centers is an acceptable use of space, has a public purpose, and does not detract from the delivery of recreation services; and

 

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Administrative Code requires that any lease of parkland or recreation facilities which will be for a period of more than one year be approved by the council following a public hearing before the Parks Commission; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parks Commission recommends approval of the lease; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into the attached three year lease agreement with Highland District Council for office space at Highland Park Community Center.
