WHEREAS, What Works Cities has invited Deputy Director of Procurement Jessica Brokaw and Senior Innovation Consultants Catherine Penkert and Cassi Johnson to attend the What Works Cities Summit Conference, a conference on using data and evidence to improve government results, on March 27-29, 2017; and

 

WHEREAS, Jessica Brokaw, Catherine Penkert, and Cassi Johnson will have the opportunity to learn and gain new insights on performance management, data driven decision making, and government transparency; and

 

WHEREAS, Catherine Penkert will be a presenter in a conference sessions featuring Saint Paul’s success using data-driven practices in service performance management; and

 

WHEREAS, the organization has offered to pay for the costs of hotel, travel, and some food expenses to the conference; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul find that attendance at the conference will be beneficial to the City in developing and implementing strategies for using data and evidence to improve results within the City; now therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost of hotel, travel, and some food expenses to the What Works Cities Summit Conference, and thanks Bloomberg Philanthropies for its generous gift.
