Honoring the recipient of the 2017 Saint Paul Business Awards for the New Kid on the Block Award category to recognize a business that has opened in Saint Paul within the last five years.

Whereas, the City of Saint Paul has a prosperous, engaged and thriving business community that is one of our city’s most valuable resources; and
Whereas, Saint Paul businesses provide jobs and services to residents and a solid foundation for our city’s growth and prosperity; and
Whereas, these companies deserve not only the city’s support but recognition for their many contributions to our community; and
Whereas, as part of the city’s efforts to recognize the outstanding businesses that call Saint Paul home, the City initiated the Saint Paul Business Awards to honor local businesses that provide critical services, contribute to our community, invest in their employees and are committed to our values of equity and diversity; and
Whereas, Tongue In Cheek, since opening in 2014, has built its business of the principle of serving animal products that are raised or caught in a humane and sustainable manner, a commitment and standard they are passionate about, and which demonstrates their fundamental belief that living a good life simply tastes better, and
Whereas, Tongue In Cheek, in its short lifespan, has further demonstrated commitment and dedication to its community by delighting customers by offering great service and food as well as helping to transform the East Side and make Saint Paul the best city to call home in Minnesota.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Saint Paul City Council, that we do hereby grant the 2017 Saint Paul Business Award in the New Kid on the Block Award category to Tongue in Cheek
