Authorizing the City to enter into a grant contract with the State of Minnesota for the DEED grant which includes an indemnification clause and amend the financing and spending plans in the Police Department in the amount of $159,115 for this grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department accepted the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) grant (RES 17-18); and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting authorization to enter into the Grant Contract which includes an indemnification clause (Attachment A); and
WHEREAS, the 2017 financing and spending plan needs to be amended and activity budget added for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $159,115 in excess of those estimated in the 2017 budget and recommends the changes as follows; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council approves these changes to the 2017 budget and authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Assistant Chief Kathleen Wuorinen to implement this agreement with the State of Minnesota.
