Proclaiming December 14, 2016 as Rudy Rousseau and Kofi Services Day in the City of Saint Paul.

WHEREAS, a dedicated advocate for African American youth and their families, Rudy Rousseau has caused a positive impact in the Saint Paul community; and
WHEREAS, Rudy Rousseau has been a leader in successfully developing and implementing Wilder’s Kofi Services for over two decades; and
WHEREAS, many youth and their families have been positively impacted through the programs provided by Kofi Services; and
WHEREAS, there have been thousands of students and families who have participated in Kofi programming over the past 25 years (primarily in the Ward 1 district and throughout the City); and
WHEREAS, Rudy Rousseau is a visionary leader who is committed to community-building by empowering the next generation of youth to become leaders and change agents by being at the forefront of these efforts; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council proclaim December 14, 2016 to be Rudy Rousseau and Kofi Services Day in the City of Saint Paul.
