Authorizing the Fire Department to enter into a joint powers agreement with Inver Hills Community College to allow paramedic students from Inver Hills Community College to participate in clinical ride alongs with the Saint Paul Fire Department.
Body
WHEREAS, Inver Hills Community College has a number of paramedic and EMT programs and the students would benefit from having actual experience in the course of their studies; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has suitable clinical facilities to meet the needs of the students, and it is in the best interest of the public to assist in educating students to be the best qualified emergency medical services personnel; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a joint powers agreement with Inver Hills Community College to allow paramedic students from Inver Hills Community College to participate in clinical ride alongs with the Saint Paul Fire Department; which includes an indemnification clause, as provided by the Saint Paul Fire Department, a copy of said agreement is to be kept on file and of record in the Office of Financial Services.
