Accepting the gift of the costs of travel expenses from CDP Cities for Budget Manager John McCarthy to attend the 2016 CDP Cites workshop to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada October 26 - 27, 2016.

WHEREAS, CDP Cities (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) has invited a representative from the City of Saint Paul to attend the 2016 CDP Cities Workshop, a conference on climate measurement and management tools, on October 26 - 27, 2016; and
WHEREAS, on RES 15-2093, Saint Paul joined the Compact of Mayors and pledged to meet a series of milestones around measuring, reporting on, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, at the CDP Cities Workshop, John McCarthy will have the opportunity to learn and gain new insights on the use of green financing instruments, and climate measurement tools; and
WHEREAS, CDP Cities has offered to pay for the costs of travel expenses to the 2016 workshop; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul find that attendance at the conference will be beneficial to the City in providing resources and training for meeting the milestones outlined in the Compact of Mayors; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of the cost of travel expenses to the 2016 CDP Cities Workshop, and thanks CDP Cities for its generous gift.
