Authorizing the Fire Department to accept the donation of 375 stovetop fire stops from Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association for the Fair Plan Grant funding program.

WHEREAS, the Fire Department applied for and received a grant of 375 stovetop fire stops from the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association for the Fair Plan Grant funding program; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department received approval to apply for this grant on Council Resolution 16-341; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association offered to purchase the stovetop fire stops and give them to the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to provide the stovetop fire stops for Project Safe Haven, which is a comprehensive fire and injury prevention program designed around the homeowner's self-inspection of their homes; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the residents of Saint Paul, accepts this donation of stovetop fire stops from the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association for the Fair Plan Grant funding program and thanks them for their generous gift.
