Authorizing the Police Department to purchase alcoholic beverages and water for the 1-2016 Police Academy, Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department, Training Unit will be conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Test training for the 1-2016 Saint Paul Police Academy; and
WHEREAS, the course will be held at the Saint Paul Police Department, 367 Grove Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota, 55101 from November 7th through 8th, 2016; and
WHEREAS, a law enforcement specialist will be instructing the new police recruits about the effects of alcoholic beverages and resulting impairment, DWI Violations/Minnesota Statutes and sobriety testing; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this training is designed to provide quality and affordable instruction to incoming police recruits by exposing them to the effects of alcohol on a person of varying degrees of intoxication; and
THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant 2016 City Budget, the proper City Officials are hereby authorized to remit an amount not to exceed $840.00, to Big Top Wine and Spirits, 1574 University Avenue West, Saint Paul, MN 55104; Cub Foods, 1440 University Ave West, Saint Paul, MN; Little Caesars Pizza, 890 Arcade Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106 to cover expenses for alcoholic beverages, water and food for use in the above mentioned training for the 1-2016 Saint Paul Police Academy.
