Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $130,000 to reflect all additional funding received in 2016 through contributions and donations for Arts & Gardening and Environmental Services. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to establish new budgets in the Grant Fund to receive projected contribution and donation revenues of 60,000 in Arts & Gardening and $70,000 for Environmental Services; and

 

WHEREAS, each grant typically has its own budget established, however, Arts & Gardening and Environmental Services both generate contribution and donation revenue, which is not eligible to be included with grant funding and therefore requires a miscellaneous “non-grant” budget be established each year to receive the various contributions and donations; and  

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation has developed spending plans to best utilize this additional “non-grant” funding for 2016; and

 

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the Grant Fund budget to reflect this additional funding and spending plan; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $130,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2016 budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves these amendments to the 2016 budget.
